This
topic is the last lesson for information technology that means after this we
will have exam after learned all about information technology. In this topic we
have learned about Web Applications. Internet is largest network in the world
that connects people/organization all over the world. Global system
interconnected networks that uses the standard internet protocol to serve
billions of user. Web is contains hypertext links, or highlighted keywords and
images that lead to related information. It also collection of electronic
documents. Internet and the World Wide Web are totally differences between each
other.
Internet
largest
network in the world that connects people/organization all over the world.Exist in 1960 , created by Vint Cerf. Is a Big Collection of
Computers . When you are using the Internet you may not be using the world wide web.
Example: Skype via a phone, you
are using the Internet. You are not using the world wide web.
The
web is a service of the Internet. System of interlinked documents that can be
accessed via the internet. Exist in 1990, created by Tim Berners Lee. Big Collection of
HTML Pages on the Internet. When you are using
the world wide web you are always using the Internet.
Example: if you want search
information, u will use internet and web
A web application or Web Apps are refer to any
application, services in internet. A web application is an application that is accessed by users over a
network such as the Internet or an intranet. Web applications may display,
create, and manage images, audio, videos, and data which can be stored and
retrieved from the Server
Exxample:
Website, Facebook, Google Documents, Windows Live Hotmail, Turbo Tax online, online calculators, calendars, and etc
Web browsers are software applications that
allow users to retrieve data and interact with content located on web pages
within a website
Examples of Browsers
- Internet Explorer
- Netscape
- Mozilla Firefox
- safari
- Opera
There are two types of web
I.
static web
II.
dynamic web page
Static
Web is
a "read-only web“. Simple web and allows people to search for information and read it. Static websites can only really be updated by
someone with knowledge of website development.
Example: educational
website, company website
Dynamic
Web is a Web interactions between people, software that ability for clients
or users to upload documents and administrators or users to create content or
add information to a site.
Example: content
management system, e-commerce system, discussion board and many more
Web have
three generation and first generation is Web 1.0. Information is displayed on web
page as static content. It also
closed
to external editing (do not allow visitors to contribute). Hyper-linking of the web-pages and bookmarking
were two of the most important aspect of
web 1.0. The web is in html coding. For instance Informational
Website, Educational Web, Company Website, Personal Web pages. People cannot
change anything just only read or see. Webpages
contains text/graphics, images and other multimedia files, hyperlinks are used
to navigate between them. Web 1.0
lack of context, interaction scalability and no user data available.
Second
generation is Web 2.0. Web 2.0, the second generation focuses on power of community, allows information sharing with a social media. This is the popular term
for advances Internet Technology and applications. Typically combination of
technology allowing user to interact with information. This web is ability to
external editing. As a result, Web users may
extend, undo and redo each other's work such as in blogs, posts and the
comments of individuals are displayed, shared and managed. Furthermore, people use and implementation of
Application softwares like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash player, Microsoft
Silverlight, Oracle Java, Windows Media, etc. to make the Web more interactive.
Lastly,
third generation of web is Web 3.0.
On the other hand Web 3.0 is about
semantic web. However, Web 3.0 is based on intelligent web applications using
machine-based learning and reasoning and intelligent applications. For example,
Decision Support System and Expert
System portal. In
a more simple way, Semantic Web
makes search engine much smarter and search engine will
understand who you are, what you've been doing, and where you'd like to go
next.
Usually
involved websites that are known as social sites. Social networking
websites function like an online community of internet users. Example of social
sites like MySpace, Twitter, FriendFinder, Facebook, Classmates, Friendster and
etc.
Mashup
means collects things together. Although is a web site that takes different content from a number of
other web sites and mixes them together
to create a new kind of content. Provided
that, mix and match content form other parts
of the web
Includes:
- data aggregator
- video aggregator
- social network aggregator
- search aggregator
- news aggregator
Low-level-language
is a machine language or an assembly language. Low-level languages are closer
to the hardware than are high-level programming languages, which are closer to
human languages.
High-level-language
is third generation language until fifth generation. High-level programming
languages, while simple compared to human languages, are more complex than the
languages the computer actually understands, called machine languages.
Each different type of CPU has its own unique machine language.
In
this topic we also learned about google apps. Google apps meas Applications and
Infrastructure which is a series of applications from Google
